Asians and AANHPI people have been subjected to stereotypes for many decades. Beliefs about what they are capable of run throughout mass media. Often these beliefs are misguided and can prevent or hinder participation in activities such as hockey.

Hockey has long been viewed as a predominantly White sport, with very little representation by other racial groups. However, if you study the history of the sport well enough, you'll find a rich and diverse history that includes many different BIPOC people and communities.

Asians in Hockey is a passion project that aims to highlight the experiences, challenges, and achievements of Asians and AANHPI folks throughout the sport by spotlighting Asian pioneers, engaging in critical conversations about Asian representation, and talking to AANHPI contributors to the game.
